No PAM

Without PAM the lower end of this newly planted alfalfa field is covered by an impervious layer of solid clay which settled out of the standing water which backed up at the tail-end of the field. It is very difficult for new plants to emerge through this thick, greasy looking coating and many die. In addition the water in the drain ditch is heavily laden with silt leaving the field.
