Self-starting siphons are a great tool for draining a irrigation drain ditch slowly after an irrigation thus reducing the amount of silt that leaves the field. This one is built using four inch ABS plastic sewer pipe and installed in the weir boards of a drain box. Total cost to build including the weir boards is less than $30.
