Drain Shed Information

The Imperial Valley has been divided up into 10 hydrologically isolated drain shed areas which will be monitored monthly for TMDL compliance. Throughout the implementation of TMDLs, farmers in each of these drainsheds will work together to ensure compliance. Each drainshed will be required to meet at least twice per year in order to report to the TMDL Program Director about what BMPs they are implementing and how they are working. The Director will then submit a report to the Regional Water Quality Control Board containing this information. Additionally, if monitoring data shows that a particular drainshed is continuously out of compliance, a meeting will be called so that farmers in that drainshed can determine changes that need to be made in order to get into compliance.
